WAGA - Phuket day 1

Today the Phuket Country Club which is about to host the Asian Seniors Golf tournament was the site of the first day of the World Airline Golfing Alliance international amateur event. Brilliant but warm weather greeted the 59 players from 8 countries. The course is prepared for a world class event and tested the WAGA group but several good scores were revealed resulting in 3 players having handicaps adjusted.

Day 1 saw Peter Freudenreich from Australia score 41 points and in the ladies event, Julie Walker who resides in Macau score 38.

Tomorrow the group go to Mission Hills Phuket Resort and Spa for a shotgun start.

The welcome dinner held on the night of the 17th was a huge success and all enjoyed the wonderful food prepared by the chefs at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa.

Results of play on Friday will be published on that day.
