What is Golf-tuned?
Golf tuned is a program designed to optimise the golfer’s body to swing with more power, consistency, technical correctness and with less stressful forces.
The ‘Golf-tuned’ model achieves this using a multi-system approach which includes the following services;
- Group strength and conditioning workshops:
classes running for 1 hour per session are aimed at strengthening core/pelvic muscles needed for mechanical control and power generation, stretching to gain ranges important to achieve correct swing patterns and education on all physical and biomechanical issues specific to golf.There will be some basic equipment used to enhance exercise quality.Usually the golfer will attempt to make 1 class per week, but a case of “more is better” is true here. - Personal physical and biomechanical screening:
The screenings are a method to accurately and individually identifying your limiting physical features to swinging the golf club.They are performed by a trained sport physiotherapist and are recommended to evaluate where ‘you’ need to work to improve your game.The physical assessment is combined with video analysis to complete the picture. - Program prescription:
From the screening we are able to provide an individual strength and conditioning program tailored to improve the key components currently hindering your swing pattern.This is done in your own time but reinforcement, assistance and motivation provided by the group sessions is most helpful and recommended. - Physiotherapy treatment:
Because there are some things which you may have difficulty improving purely through the exercise program (group or individual), physiotherapy treatment can be accessed at times.Either for injury or want of faster physical improvements all treatment through Golf-tuned is specifically aimed towards rehabilitation to golf and treatment is performed by a golfing physiotherapist. - Coach liaising:
Golf-tuned is not a coaching service.
We aim to work with your coach of choice, as a team, to improve all facets of your game.We are able to improve your physical qualities as a golfer so your coach is then able to make the changes he/she wishes without limitation. “Physical intervention must be performed with technical development in mind.” The golfing athlete.
Who is Golf-tuned aimed at?
The model will be useful for all (men and women) golfers from professional level to the 27 handicapper. Group workshops are run so that each exercise can be adapted individually with regards to the capability of each participant.
