WAGA scores in Buenos Aires
Arrived home last night after a 14hr flight. Programme was a huge success and everybody enjoyed the event. In the five divisions of the Argentina Invitational, WAGA scored a second and third in Men’s A grade, second in Men’s C grade, first in Ladies A grade and first in B grade.
I am sure you would agree that this was a great result. Unfortunately, due to the earthquake in Chile, 5 of our group could not get on flights and had to cancel.

Buenos Aires
On Sunday 28-2-10, WAGA joined Discover Golf for the Argentina Invitation tournament. WAGA had booked 18 players in the 70 strong competition.
Play on Monday and Tuesday provided good play and no record breaking scores. Wednesday started rainy but has improved.
There are 3 categories for men and 2 for ladies and I am happy to say that WAGA players are in placings in all categories.
Unfortunately, my level of play has been poor.
Scores will be released upon my return to Australia.

Off to Buenos Aires
Well the year is 54 days old and it is about time for WAGA to go out there and be seen! WAGA has 18 golfers attending the inaugral BA Tourism event, which is about 20% of attendees! South America should be fine for our 4 French, 9 USA and 5 Aussies.
Individual WAGA scores will be available on the website next week.
Honolulu still has spots available, Scottsdale has only 3, Gold Coast and Vietnam are both available.
2011…Versailles is almost confirmed, Sth Africa is being worked on, Thailand is the same and we have a new destination, Livingston in Florida…keep an eye on the w ebsite.

WHOOPS !
In my last note, I mentioned that WAGA was dealing with a Chinese dealer who could provided Apple 3G Iphones for around $400usd. As they say, if a deal is too good to be true, it is!
The telephones were found to be copies and so WAGA will not be making any purchases. My apologies to all, I am out there again chasing a telephone.
Golf 2010.
WAGA are taking 17 to Buenos Aires where the field will exceed 100. Honolulu still has vacancies, The Boulders in Scottsdale has 3 vacancies, Gold Coast and Danang, Vietnam have vacancies.
WAGA is working on Versailles, France; Sun City, Africa and Thailand for 2011.

Matters of Interest
Today is the 22nd of January and the year does not seem to be slowing at all! WAGA have 13 entrants for Sth America, spots are still available for Honolulu, only 7 spots left at The Boulders and both Gold Coast and Vietnam are open.
WAGA have been dealing with a Chinese firm who have supplied us with shirts, caps and towels. They are also able to provide Apple 32GB Iphone at a cost of $440usd landed in Australia. I will let you know how they perform.
PGF Golf Australia have been a major sponsor for many years and those that run events know how hard it is to get and keep such sponsors. PGF Golf Australia have just released their latest model clubs, the Status P78. From all reports, a great set of clubs. Please remember that if you need golf clubs or supplies, go to PGF Golf Australia and mention WAGA, you will receive a significant discount.
The Rosebowl competition, held between USA, Australia and New Zealand will be held in Cairns this year. Details can be obtained by contacting me at brian@wagagolf.com
Similarly, the Qantas National event will be held on the Gold Coast in May and again, details from brian@wagagolf.com

Golf in Honolulu with WAGA
Wow, already the 5th of January 2010. Where does time go? Today the Aussie dollar is rising against the $US and it might be the time to plan your next golfing holiday.
Honolulu is the perfect spot to relax, play golf, shop and generally enjoy a totally different holiday. WAGA have put a great package together and already have participants from USA and Australia.
If you would like a fully relaxed sporting holiday, come and join the WAGA group in Honolulu in April 2010.

Happy New Year from WAGA
Today is the last day for 2009. At WAGA, we would like to thank our major sponsors, PGF Golf, St George Bank, Sporte-Leisure and Elite Crystal for their support this past year.
We would also like to thank all visitors to the web-site and those that were able to attend events in 2009.
We hope that in 2010 we may see you at one of our events but understand that this may not be possible. Whatever the case, WAGA wish one and all a very happy New Year.

Merry Xmas from WAGA
With the festive season coming to a close, it is a time that WAGA would choose to say “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.
What a year, what a time. For those of you who were able to support WAGA I thank you! If you were able to attend a tournament, thank you! We move on to 2010 with events in South America, America, Australia and Honolulu. All can be found at www.wagagolf.com
I would also like to thank our supporters, primarily
PGF Golf Australia,
St George Bank
Sporte-Leisure
Elite Crystal.
Without their support, WAGA would find it hard to provide the quality of prizes that is the standard of a WAGA event.
Enjoy your Xmas, the New Year and your friends.
Merry Christmas

WAGA November up-date
With just over 4 weeks until Xmas, this year does seem to have flown by. The events for 2009 were down in number but it would appear still appreciated. The photos have proved a great success given the number of hits on them
2010 close-out dates
Buenos Aires - 28th January - spots still avbl
Honolulu - 12th January - spots still avbl
Scottsdale - 16th February - spots still avbl
Gold Coast - 18th May - spots still avbl
Danang, Vietnam - 19th July - spots still avbl
Four of the five events for 2010 are using USD as the basic form of currency. This should be good for Americans but is very good for folk in those countries that find their currency strengthening. Australia is in that category and pundits feel that the AUD will be on par in 2010 with the USD. With cheaper airfares, strengthening currencies, this is a good time to plan your WAGA golfing holiday.

Scores Queenstown - day 1& 2 & 3
Like Palm Springs, WAGA had clear skies and superb weather. The only difference was the temperature, day 1 Palm Springs was 44C, here today it was 14C.
The course and surroundings left the players in awe! So much so that only one player broke handicap; Raphael Tetuanui from Tahiti had 38. The best ladies score was Dilini Saverimuttu with 33.
Nearest to the pins on the 7th for men went to Chris Morton whilst on the 11th for ladies, it was Dilini Saverimuttu.
Wednesday - how conditions can change! Overnight rain, warmer temperatures and stronger winds affected play. Best score was from Tony Verzantvoort with 37 and Tricia Higgins had 35. NTP hole 17 went to Rob Meek and Grace Wilson scored on the 10th at Queenstown Golf Club.
Darren McIntosh won the WAGA Melbourne Cup sweep.
Thursday - fine and sunny and what a day. Edith de Groot from Brisbane had a hole in one on the 13th which was the NTP for ladies. Needless to say, drinks were had! Best score today for the ladies was Tricia Higgins who had 40 and in the male division, Terry Shute had 38. Nearest to the pin for men was Chris Morton.
Overall winner for men was Terry Shute with 106 followed by Raphael Tetuanui with 103. All male placegetters scored 100 or better. In the ladies, Dilini Saverimuttu had 100 with Tricia Higgins scoring 97.
