Time to leave New York

They say that all good things come to an end and I suppose this is the case now! Have had a great time here, weather has been good and today is clear skies and warm day. Have been able to catch up with Frank Gyurtsak, Alex Ausciewicz, his friend Jack from New Jersey, Jim and Marci Menconi, Paul Willis, Leon and Janette Boyd. Have had to purchase a new suitcase to accommodate purchases.

Interest is still mounting for Gold Coast and Dananag so if you are still thinking of attending either tournament, do so when you can. Buenos Aires has received more applications and I hope to have France and South Africa on the website early in June. Photographs and scores from Scottsdale will be on the web shortly after my return.

Happy golfing, Brian Lassen;  WAGA.

WAGA have moved from Phoenix to Los Angeles to New York. The weather here is clear and a little cooler than Scottsdale. It is a fine time for sightseeing, shopping and looking at potential venues for 2011. All scores and photographs from Scottsdale will be available on the website after 29/5/10. WAGA received two new applications for Gold Coast today and wish to remind all viewers that there are vacancies in both Gold Coast and Vietnam. Regards, Brian Lassen, WAGA.

WAGA in Scottsdale and final scores

WAGA arrived in Scottsdale on Saturday 15th. Weather was perfect and surroundings magnificent. Sunday 16th was registration and informal gathering and the group enjoyed the clear skies and great temperature. Liberal finger food and drinks greeted the group. Today Monday is first day of competition and already some are struggling. It is not a course to miss the fairway given the desert environment and flora and fauna. . WAGA are on The Boulders South course and it is rated in the top 10 public courses in USA. Scores today were fairly high with Robert Carter scoring 37, Ian King & Harry Boardson 36, in the ladies Hazel Kelly had 40, Coral Kennedy 37 and Dilini Saverimuttu 36. Hazel now has a handicap adjustment. NTP was won by Dorothy Consolo.

Tuesday play – Boulders North and South. Harry Boardson and Dilini Saverimuttu were the winners today, 41 and 39 respectively. Both have suffered a handicap adjustment! Robert Carter, Selva Saverimuttu and Dorothy Consolo had 35 each. NTP was won by Ian King from Australia. Wednesday play is again the composite course, 9 holes on The Boulders North and South.

Wednesday results:- The day was clear and warm, not hot, just great for golf. The Boulders South and North were the  courses again and play was very consistent. A few rattle snakes provided some disconcerting times but no one suffered, apart from a few who inadvertently bumped against the cactus. Bob Carter and Ian King scored 39 whilst Michael Calvani and Selva Saverimuttu scored 37.  Ladies, Dilini Saverimuttu and Cindy Harrison scored 31 with Hazel Kelly and Sheila Clarke scoring 28. Nearest to the Pin was won by Myron Addie.

Overall winner was Harry Boardson with 113, second was Robert Carter with 111 and third was Ian King with 109.

February 2011 - Argentina Invitational Golf Tour with WAGA
Having so enjoyed Buenos Aires in 2007 and 2010, WAGA are excited to be invited to this wonderful international golfing event for 2011 at 2010 prices.

France has St. Tropez, Italy the Amalfi Coast, Australia the Gold Coast, USA has Florida and England has Blackpool.

Argentina has Mar del Plata and its most exciting city, Buenos Aires.

Great locations, great destinations!

Discover Golf Argentina have invited members of the World Airline Golfing Alliance to join a limited number of golfers and their partners to its second event in Buenos Aires.

This international amateur tournament is open to all golfers with registered handicaps and provides for the golfer and their partner, a chance to participate in a unique holiday and tournament.

Airline travel is easy to Buenos Aires

From the airport in Buenos Aires, it takes about 1 hour and taxis, buses and limousines are available. The US dollar is the accepted form of currency. Please check with your appropriate government agency regarding visa and health requirements. – Australians, Americans and Canadians have to pay an Entry fee which is in USD. – Personal security should always be reviewed when visiting foreign countries and Argentina is no different.
