World Airline Golfing Alliance - 2008 and 2009

Down under, we are just 7hrs and 30mins from 2009. What a year this has been for all of us, careers changed, finances shocked and some of our lives in turmoil. But WAGA have endured and whilst I would not wish this year on us again, I am sure that we can create a better future in 2009.

If you visited with WAGA in Adelaide, Phuket, Lake Como or Christchurch, I hope that you enjoyed the experience. There were a large number of new visitors to WAGA and that is a good sign. Please remember to recommend our website to friends and fellow golfers.

2009 will give you tours to Kuala Lumpur, Costa del Sol, Sunshine Coast, Palm Springs and Queenstown. WAGA are working on the latter two brochures at the moment. Bookings are steady but vacancies exist in all events.

Let us hope that with the turning of clock to midnight and the approach of 2009 that our lives and futures improve, handicaps reduce and that our friendships strengthen.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and thanks this year.

Happy New Year

Palm Springs welcomes WAGA

As I mentioned 10 days ago, WAGA will host their fourth event for 2009 at Palm Springs, CA. La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria property and part of the Hilton chain will be our host for this inaugral event.

A brochure is being preparedĀ and for $869usd for both golfer and non-golfer, the package has been commented on as being “wonderful value” in this time of economic hardship. Four nights accommodation at the magnificent La Quinta Resort and Club, one game of golf at the prestigious PGA West Stadium course, PGA West Greg Norman course and one at the La Quinta Mountain course. Non-golfers will have tours to Joshua Tree National Park and Cabazon outlet mall. Two dinners with taxes and gratuities, 4 breakfasts. Wow, is this value for money!

In on 27Sep and out 01Oct. Limited to 60 entrants. Brochure on the web-site, www.wagagolf.com early January 2009

Queenstown in early November 2009 is also being confirmed. Prices are not set but it is expected that the Melbourne Cup for 2009 can be enjoyed during our event.

Bookings are steady for the other 3 events for 2009. Xmas is fast approaching and WAGA would like to wish all visitors to our site a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

WAGA would like to thank you one and all for your support, friendship and company in what was a difficult year.

Merry Christmas and happy golfing.

Brian Lassen, WAGA.

WAGA thoughts

Yesterday, I sent a bulk email to those who have registered with WAGA. It covered 09 and what WAGA stands for and and what WAGA propose for 2009! If you want to be on the email list, send me your current email address.

WAGA was formed in 1999 and its values were:- great golf courses, good hotels, different locations, good competition and most of all, fun! WAGA have not CHANGED their ideals but the world has changed for us. WAGA understand that these trips are a luxury but given that we have worked hard and long, should we not be able to enjoy this?

WAGA will continue to try to put affordable tournaments together and hope that you can join us at one of them. They will always be affordable, as low a cost as we can find, fun and a great meeting point for international friends.

2009.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 48 golfers and 24 non-golfers booked

Costa del Sol, Spain. 23 golfers and 9 non-golfers booked.

Sunshine Coast, Australia. 20 golfers and 8 non-golfers booked.

The Jewel in the Crown. Brochure being prepared. Palm Springs, CA, USA. In on 27/9/09 and out 1/10/09. 4 nights at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria property, La Quinta. Home to actors and travellers. Playing golf at PGA West Stadium course, La Quinta mountain and the Greg Norman course. (PGA West was the home for the recent PGA qualifying school). Total package around $840usd and limited to 60 people. Should be on the web after Xmas.

Queenstown New Zealand. Late Oct or early Nov. 4 nights at Crowne Plaza, playing golf at Millbrook, Jacks Point and Queenstown - less than $1000nzd…how good is that. How cheap is that…WAGA are doing their best to reduce the effect of the world recession.

So have a look at the events for 09 and we hope that you can join us somewhere in the world in 2009.

Happy Golfing
