A word from WAGA
It is a wet and windy day on the Gold Coast. WAGA have managed to obtain another 10 rooms in Christchurch so the latest standby entries are accepted. If you still wish to attend, obtain a registration form and send without monies. I will let you know if I can confirm your entry.
New email address - Brian can be contacted at brian@wagagolf.com or armlass@optusnet.com.au
Photographs - if you click on the photos tag on the website, you will see 12 images of Lake Como golfers and their activities, 24 photographs of non-golfing views and 3 photographs for the forthcoming trip to Spain in June 09. Remember, only 80 people can go to the tournament in Spain.
Future events - Spain is being worked on by the graphic artist, Malaysia is waiting for responses from tour operators and MAS, Sunshine Coast is pending. There will be NO printed version of tournaments next year, they will be a PDF file and emailed to you, so if you have an email address, please send it to either armlass or Brian.

2008 - 2009 World Airline Golfing Alliance events
Christchurch is still “standby only” as we wait for more hotel rooms to be released. Staff at the hotel assure me they will get more rooms and when we do, those on “standby” will be accepted.
Kuala Lumpur, April 19th to 25th. Negotiations are still underway with Malaysian Airlines for low cost fares from all parts of the world to Kuala Lumpur and return, economy class for the 24th International Airline Cup. They have asked for approximate numbers and that was provided and WAGA are just waiting for the confirmation of the airfare. The programme has been written and should be with you in August.
Costa del Sol, Spain is a go with the event booked for June 1 to 5. The programme is with a graphic artist and when complete, will appear on the web-site. As space is limited to a maximum of 80 applicants for this event, WAGA do not intend to produce several thousand brochures but will place the brochure and registration form on the web-site and if you have an email address with us, a copy will be emailed to you.
Regards
Brian Lassen, WAGA.

WAGA 2008/2009
The weather on the Gold Coast over the past 4 days reminds me of the tournament in Lake Como, overcast and wet with golf being cancelled. I have also had the opportunity to look at photographs taken during our stay in Italy and will email them to the subjects.
Christchurch 2008. This is the 3rd event this year where lack of hotel rooms is the limiting factor. Currently we have 61 golfers and 21 non-golfers and 2 players on standby. The Holiday Inn, City Centre is working on more rooms for WAGA but until they confirm them, all future applications will be on a “standby” basis.
Malaysia 2009. WAGA are working with Malaysia Tourism and MAS to arrange a fantastic 24th International Airline Cup from the 19th to the 25th of April. The hotel has been selected, Saujana and Kota Permai golf courses have been selected and negotiations are in place with Royal Selangor Golf Course. It is hoped that Malaysian Airlines might offer a “special” fare for applicants for this event. When details are complete, they will be posted on the web-site and a brochure posted to those on the mailing list.

Famous faces on Lake Como golf tour

Lake Como is famous for many of its residents and guests. Pictured with Brian and Jennie at the recent amateur golf event hosted by the World Airline Golfing Alliance was one of them. Obviously all had a good time!
